Important Dates

• Coaches Clinic - early April (details coming)
• Players Clinic - early April (details coming)
• Outdoor Practices Begin - Week of April 14 (weather permitting)
• Games Begin - Weekend of May 3 (Upper division will start games the week of May 26)
• Regular Season Ends - June 29th
• Playoffs - for Lower, Middle & Upper divisions - week of July 7th

Divisions & Fees

The divisions and fees are outlined below. All fees include a jersey, off-season workouts, and the  Warren Township Activity Fee. Black softball pants are required, and must be purchased separately. 

• Instructional - current grades 1-2; fees $150
• Lower - current grades 3-4; fees $250
• Middle - current grades 5-6 ; fees $250
• Upper - current grades 7-11; fees $270

Program-wide information

• All teams will practice at least 1 time per week
• Outdoor practices will start early to mid-April, weather permitting
• Games will start in early-May, weather permitting
• Upper division teams will start playing in late May, once the high school softball season is over
• All levels may play games against teams from neighboring communities (Mundelein, Libertyville, Vernon, Hills, Lake Forest)
• Regular season will end by June 29
• Playoffs (Lower, Middle & Upper divisions) will take place the week of July 7, after a break for Independence Day

Instructional Division

• Focus on skill development - throwing, catching, fielding, hitting
• Coach pitch
• 12-14 games scheduled
• Friend and coach requests will be considered wherever possible when forming teams, but are not guaranteed
• Rosters will consist of 10-12 players
• Games and practices primarily on Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays 
• Season ends around June 30
• Program fee:  $150
• Ages:  7 & 8 year-olds (currently enrolled in 1st or 2nd grade)

LOWER Division

• Focus on skill development - throwing, catching, fielding, hitting
• Player pitch, coach pitch if walked
• 14-16 games scheduled
• Friend and coach requests will be considered wherever possible when forming teams, but are not guaranteed
• Rosters will consist of 10-12 players
• Games and practices primarily on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays 
• Regular season ends around June 30
• Playoffs will take place the week of July 7
• Program fee:  $250
• Ages:  9 & 10 year-olds (currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th grade)

MIDDLE Division

• Player pitch
• 14-16 games scheduled
• Friend and coach requests will be considered wherever possible when forming teams, but are not guaranteed
• Rosters will consist of 11-13 players
• Games and practices primarily on Mondays, Thursdays & Saturdays/Sundays 
• Regular season ends around June 30
• Playoffs will take place the week of July 7
• Program fee:  $250
• Ages:  11 & 12 year-olds (currently enrolled in 5th or 6th grade)

UPPER Division

• Player pitch
• 14-16 games scheduled
• Friend and coach requests will be considered wherever possible when forming teams, but are not guaranteed
• Rosters will consist of 12-14 players
• Games and practices primarily on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays 
• Regular season ends around June 30
• Playoffs will take place the week of July 7
• Program fee:  $270
• Ages:  13-17 year-olds (currently enrolled in 7th - 11th grade)

*There is a $25 discount if registration is completed by January 31

Refund Policy

We always need coaches! Please volunteer this season.  Also, note all board members and coaches are volunteering their time to make this a great experience for your child every season.

All WTGS Rec Softball games will be played at the softball fields at Warren Township Park, located at 17801 W Washington St, Gurnee, IL 60031.
